Existence and non-existence of global solutions to a generalized Modification of the Improved Boussinesq equation

In this paper, the existence, both locally and globally in time, the uniqueness of solutions and the non-existence of global solutions to the initial boundary value problem of a generalized Modification of the Improved Boussinesq equation u(tt) - u(xx) - u(xxtt) = sigma(u)(xx) are studied and a few examples are discussed.
