Amafond (Italian Foundry Machinery and Products) celebrates sixty years

Eighty-five years ago Gabriele D'Annunzio chose the Grand Hotel di Gardone Riviera on Lake Garda as his residence until the Vittoriale was completed. On Friday, 9th June 2006 this splendid building, which celebrated its 120th anniversary in 2004, hosted a meeting organised by Amafond to mark the 60 years of existence of this Italian Association which groups together constructors of machines, plants, furnaces and foundry products. The event formed the backdrop to a comparison among several generations, running through the stages that increased the first seven companies which founded the association in 1946 to the current 80 members, with a turnover for exports alone of almost 700 million euros.
