Pioneering EU project seeks recruits

Good environmental performance is a core issue for many businesses and ranks increasingly high up on the list of corporate responsibilities. But how valuable are formal environmental management systems such as ISO 14001 and the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS)? UK based project 'remas' is calling on business to find out. It wants to prove a conclusive correlation between robust EMS and better performance by examining industrial operations across a dozen industry sectors throughout Europe. The recruitment drive kicks off this month (September) in the UK and Ireland- the project to be rolled out to other Member States in January.
