At first glance, the sheer size of the mill leaves you with the impression of the big coastal mills of days gone by.Yet when you look a little closer, much of the older equipment that would have handled Oregon's huge old growth logs a couple of decades ago has been replaced by smaller and faster gear that is extremely accurate and optimizes today's smaller logs through the use of state-of-the-art scanners rather than a sawyer's experienced eye.
