Michele Roberts: Librarian Novelist And Radical Inspirational Writer And Thinker

Two years ago I went to hear Tony Benn speak at CILIP Members' Day and found it to be wonderful and inspirational as well as interesting and amusing. I wrote an article about it for Managing Information (Rikowski, 2007). So, when I discovered that Michele Roberts was speaking at CILIP Members' Day, I went along to the event full of hope. I was not disappointed! It was also wonderful! There was less than half the audience than there was for Tony Benn's talk that was disappointing. She deserved better. Still, quality made up for quantity and I had networked with some of the other interesting people there afterwards, as well.
