Integrated measuring system for tube-bending machines

Manufacturers wanting to accurately bend steel and stainless-steel tubes normally have to accept additional processing time for the generally unavoidable measuring and adjusting process, because the spring-back behaviour of the materials can differ widely - even if the tubes come from a single batch. The Springmatic optical measuring system is a new development from the German company Schwarze-Robitec GmbH, Cologne (www.schwarze-robitec.com). This is integrated into the bending tool, where it measures the bent tubes directly while tensioned on the bending machine and, as necessary, immediately starts the required further bending process or saves the required correction value for subsequent bends.
