The polymer micro structure of poly(butene-i) can be designed by theintroduction of comonomers like ethylene (poly(ethylene-co-butene-i)) as well as thededicated use of special polymerization catalysts. With the use of ethylene ascomonomer the change of polymer micro structure also leads to changes in themacroscopic material parameters leading to polymers with a new application profilewhich are of special interest as hot melt adhesive raw materials. The use of dedicatedpolymerization catalysts allows the production of new poly(butene-i) hot meltadhesive raw materials without the use of additional comonomers.
