摘要

Measurement of the polarized fluorescence intensities of chromophores in a sample by rotating the sample around the excitation light beam, i.e., the PFR method, is very efficient for determining the three-dimensional arrangement of the chromophores in the film. We have applied the PFR method to monitor the orientation of fluorescent species in amorphous regions of polymer films. In particular, the present paper reviews two successful studies obtained by PFR method: (i) the microenvironmental change of amorphous regions induced by uniaxially stretching of the films, and (ii) the initial stage of the cold crystallization of poly(ethylene terephthalate) films stretched uniaxially.
