If someone told Martin Roy when he completed his forestry studies how much time he would end up dedicating to his company as a successful contractor, he just may have decided to find a job as employee instead. Still, challenges and hours aside, Roy likes forestry, and intends to work in the field one way or another for the rest of his professional life. Born in St. Quentin, a forestry town in northern New Brunswick, Roy studied forest technology at CEGEP (junior college) in Rimouski, in eastern Quebec. Diploma in hand, he returned to his home town and started to work in his father's logging business.
