In 2012, specialist international logistics and transport provider, Brit European, entered the UK fuel distribution market. Managing director, Graham Lackey explains the company's move into fuels: "When the opportunity came up to acquire Tankplus, an Ellesmere Port-based fuel distribution subcontractor, we could see there may be a gap in the market. It's down to commercial instinct and a willingness to take a calculated risk, but above all it's about being innovative and creative." "We see ourselves as providing a second tier supply with the strength of the Brit European Group. This will allow it to operate at the quality and safety standards of a first tier supplier, and have the ability to invest in the latest fleet. Our flexible and creative approach will allow lead suppliers or in house fleets to utilise us to add value to their portfolio and optimise operations without fear of diluting overall operating standards."
