With around 16.500 ha, citrus fruit has a participation of the 7,9 percent of the national fruit surface. Not being to national level the most important item of the fruit business is on the other hand the sector but prominent: with a stable price inthe time, is a profitable alternative, if the smaller labor hand is considered and also the sanitary advantages that Chile presents as country. Luis Schmidt, president of Fedefruta Chile, expects a growth of a 10 percent for the next three years.
