It is not exactly usual for the manager of a medium-sized private agricultural company to preside over events at the World Economic Forum. That Helmy Abouleish did so nevertheless at the recent World Economic forum held in the Egyptian Sharm El-Sheikhin mid-May illustrates the particular importance of his agricultural company. In 1977, SEKEM was founded not far from Cairo by the father with nothing less than the intention of completely changing whole life concepts and the way in which work was doneon the land.
