Both china and the USA exporting more apples to Asia

China had great success in the last five years with expanding fresh apple exports to Southeast Asia, Russia, and the Middle East. Total exports of apples from China increased to a peak of 773,899 t by 2004/05, followed by a strong performance in the most recent season. U.S. fresh apple exports showed an upward trend in the last three seasons, reaching a peak of 688,096 t during 2005/06. Market development activities by both exporters contributed to increased sales in Asia.
