NATIONAL FUEL GAS SUPPLY ANNOUNCES OPEN SEASON FOR PROPOSED PIPELINE TO LINK MARCELLUS SHALE AND APPALACHIAN PRODUCTION;SOME NEW MANAGERS ANNOUNCED

On 8/5/08 National Fuel Gas Supply Corp.(Supply),the Pipeline and Storage segment of National Fuel Gas Co.,announced an open season for capacity in the Appalachian corridor in southwestern and central Pennsylvania that will provide transportation and storage services to key northeast market interconnects including Ellisburg,Leidy and Corning.At stake is the potential development of a new pipeline system,the"Appalachian Lateral,"primarily to move gas supplies produced from the Marcellus Shale and other Appalachian producing areas.The open season will close on 9/12/08.Shippers are also going to be offered soon the opportunity to access incremental storage capacity of 8.5 Bcf via Supply's planned expansion of certain existing underground natural gas storage fields.This storage capacity will be the objective of a complementary open season in the near future.
