MUNICIPALS AND TEXAS GAS ARE AT ODDS OVER PIPELINE'S CREDITWORTHINESS STANDARDS

Recently, in a back and forth with the pipeline, the Western Tennessee Municipal Group, the Jackson Energy Authority, City of Jackson, Tennessee, and the Kentucky Cities (Cities), jointly and severally, are protesting an April 15 filing of Texas Gas Transmission LLC (RP11-2008) that revises the creditworthiness provisions of its tariff. According to these cities, the proposal Texas Gas has filed is "a sweeping rewrite" of the creditworthiness provisions, and a customer may be denied service if it fails to meet the new criteria or security provisions. While some of the criteria are objective, "some clearly are not."
