GULF SOUTH PIPELINE CITES RISE IN RICH GAS DEMAND AS ONE REASON TO ABANDON AND TRANSFER SOUTH TEXAS DRY GAS PRODUCTION AND GATHERING FACILITIES TO BOARDWALK FIELD SERVICES

Earlier this month, on May 10 Gulf South Pipeline Co. (CP11-478) submitted an application for FERC's authorization to abandon by sale or inter-corporate transfer to its affiliate, Boardwalk Field Services, LLC, approximately 280 miles of gathering and transmission pipelines, including appurtenant and auxiliary facilities, and two compressor stations, located in south Texas. The production area facilities (South Texas Facilities) that Gulf South proposes to abandon consist primarily of approximately 52 miles of 24-inch and 90 miles of 30-inch diameter pipeline (Index 129) plus the compressor stations. There is currently no straddle processing plant located on the facilities.
