Boardwalk's Gulf South Pipeline Composes A Voluntary Interruptible Natural Gas Transportation Service Designed to Facilitate Liquidity for Buy and Sell Deals In the Perryville, Louisiana Area

On 2/7/12 Gulf South Pipeline Co. LP (RP12-372) proposed to FERC to add the Perryville Exchange Service (PXS) to its tariff, purportedly "to develop a more liquid trading environment in the Perryville, Louisiana area." An interruptible natural gas transportation service, tailored to each customer, would be established to allow customers to trade (buy and sell) and transport gas within a defined Exchange Area that is also within the pipeline's Zone 2 rate zone. According to the application, the entirely voluntary PXS service would provide customers an opportunity to trade in the shale gas- rich Perryville area. The proposed effective date for the new Rate Schedule PXS is 3/9/12, at which date customers could submit a request for service; however, commencement of service could be no earlier than April 1.
