Natural Gas Will Be Important Component of National Petroleum Council's Next Two Projects to Evaluate Transportation Fuels and Natural Gas Resources on Behalf of the Department of Energy

The National Petroleum Council (NPC) convened in Washington, D.C. on 9/17/09 to review and consider its agenda for the coming year and to act on its administrative responsibilities. Claiborne Deming, the NPC's Chair, presided over the meeting that would have featured Department of Energy's chief Steven Chu, but Daniel Poneman, Deputy Secretary of Energy, filled in on behalf of the busy Secretary. There were no reports issued by the group but the Secretary, in a letter to the group, posed two new projects for the Council this year.
