Oliver Combe is forever preparing for the festive season. If you were to catch sight of a man seated aboard a strange contraption working its way through a field of Christmas trees on the northern outskirts of the city of York, that man will probably be Oliver Combe. When he is not tending his Christmas tree crop, Oliver may well be at the York Auction Centre - from where he runs the business Timber Auctions - or viewing timber lots for sale anywhere in the country. After years dealing with big timber harvesting contracts for BSW, it is now smaller trees that take up much of Oliver's time. For six or seven weeks in the run-up to the festive season, both he and his wife Kirsty are committed to harvesting and supplying the little conifers from dawn to dusk... and sorting out stock and orders well into the long, winter evenings.
