Feed companies have been set a challenge to produce fish-free aquaculture diets in a competition worth more than $100,000 to the winner. The F3 Fish-Free Feed Challenge, launched in the US at the end of last year, invites firms to produce and sell 100,000 tonnes of seafood-free aquaculture feed using new formulations of proteins and lipids.
