The benefits of modern record keeping

All businesses today are governed by many controls and a modern farrier business is no different. So, like it or not, record keeping is effectively compulsory in some form or another. Having said that, professional, effective and detailed record keeping can offer many advantages. Remember, that besides yourself, your clients and ultimately the horse will see the benefits that a record keeping system can deliver. Detailed records will enhance your client relationship. Your clients are paramount because without them you do not have a horse to treat. I have been the client of a farrier myself, so I see the client-farrier relationship from another perspective. Some of my horses were treasured pets and some were financial investments, but both required my farrier to treat me and my horses professionally.
