NEEDLEFELT NONWOVEN INVESTMENT

Super Absorbent Fibre (SAFTM) manufacturer Tech-nical Absorbents Ltd (TAL, http://techabsorbents.com) has recently invested in a needlefelt line at its facility in Grimsby, UK. The company has been involved in the production of SAFTM containing roll goods for a num-ber of years, but has previously worked with global partners. These relationships will continue, but the new line will provide TAL with greater flexibility and product development opportunities. The line can pro-duce fabrics up to 2 m wide in basis weights from 130 to 1000 gsm, containing as much as 80% SAFTM. To help protect the fibre during processing, the line is housed in a low humidity environment.
