Recently published research illustrates the substantial contribution of Scottish aquaculture to the economy and to the many communities in which it operates. The Scottish Government, in partnership with Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), commissioned research in 2013 to build our knowledge base concerning the balance of aquaculture impacts and the anticipated changes as the sector grows. Following a competitive tender process, the project was awarded to a team from Imani Development and SAMS Research Service Ltd (SRSL), offering a fresh and innovative approach to the analytical challenge.
