The morning session was devoted to wood structure, its design and how we use it.Professor Ennos covered a variety of topics, looking at the structure of trees, their structural requirements and looked at some of the problems with wood design.Using research by Neely and Duncan Slater, Roland Ennos spoke of the structure and mechanics of branches and forks, and considered how tree design affects how we harvest and use wood.
