Fibre optic specialist US Sensor Systems(USSI) says it has developed a small,ultra-reliable fibre optic geophone foroilfield seismic exploration and produc-tion. The sensor is said to represent thefirst major technological advancementover the traditional magnetic coil geo-phones which have been used by the oilindustry for almost 50 years.
