New developments discussed at Canadian conference Over 400 people attend Aquaculture Canada 2006

THE Aquaculture Association of Canada (AAC) held its annual conference and meeting in Halifax, Nova Scotia from November 19-22, 2006. Co-hosted by the AAC, the Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia (AANS) and Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture, Aquaculture Canada 2006 (AC06) was attended by over 400 delegates representing all aspects of Canadian aquaculture including government, academia, students, suppliers and industry. In addition, a trade show was held during the conference to allow exhibitors to display their products and services to the attending audience. "The Aquaculture Association of Canada's annual meetings are an excellent opportunity for those involved in all aspects of Canadian aquaculture to see new developments in research, regulation and practices, while also strengthening collaborations and friendships," said Chris Hendry, Chair of AC06 and AAC President (2005-2006), "and Aquaculture Canada 2006 accomplished this with its relevant technical programme and social events."
