Belgium based Steen has been making machines for the fish processing industry for more than 50 years but it still gets excited when a new product is launched. The company's pin bone remover was introduced on to the market late last year, after successful trials, and is already performing well against the competition, says international sales manager Laurenz Seesing.Steen knew the machine would be '100 per cent' effective on salmon but has recently discovered that it works very well on other species too, including sea bream, and further possibilities are now being explored.
