Commercializing GM canola won't affect organic industry: study

Commercializing genetically modified canola in Australia is unlikely to have much of an effect on the organic canola, livestock and honey industries, according to a new government agency report. The report, by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (AB ARE), investigated the potential economic effects of commercializing GM canola on domestic organic agriculture, and examined the treatment of GMOs in organic certification standards in Australia and in Australia's main organic trading partners.
