摘要

This article looks at trends in food consumption based on US per capita food supply. Intakes of refined grains, fats, sugars, red meat, fruits and vegetables and dairy products are discussed and compared with recommendations based on dietary guidelines. Two primary data sets are available to measure compliance with dietary guidelines -- Continuing Survey of Food Intakes by Individuals and US Food Supply Series.
