摘要

Holiday sales can account for as much as 30 percent of a florist's annual revenues, and tapping the latest trends can help maximize those ales. The following information is provided to help you do just that. During the 2005 holiday season, consumers spent, on average, more than 700 dollar each on gifts, seasonal decor, food, greeting cards and flowers, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF), the world's largest retail trade association, based in Washington, D.C. While flowers accounted fora modest portion of that amount (about 16 dollar, or slightly more than 2 percent), florists have tremendous opportunities to grab sales in the decorations and gifts segments, which accounted for about 450 dollar (more than 60 percent) of those expenditures.
