There are only a handful of doctors of veterinary medicine among the 4,000 members of IAFP, but Sid Thakur is working to change that. As an Associate Professor of Molecular Epidemiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University, Sid encourages students to adopt the "one health principle;" a method of advancing global food safety by studying the interaction of animal, human and environmental health.
