Huntsman to purchase chemicals business of Laffans Petrochemicals

Huntsman Corp has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the chemicals business of Laffans Petrochemicals Ltd. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. Huntsman had previously formed a manufacturing partnership with Laffans last year [Focus on Surfactants, Sep 2009]. Located in Ankleshwar, India, the Laffans chemicals business manufactures surfactants and amines. It has 130 employees and approximately $45 M sales/y (?35 M/y). The acquisition is subject to certain terms and conditions and is expected to be finalized in the first half of 2011.
