摘要

A sol-gel approach was used for preparation of surface-functionalised amorphous metal oxide nanoparticles.Modified metal alkoxides were obtained by substitution of alkoxide groups against functionalised pentane-2,4-dione derivatives,which had potential initiating sites for atom transfer radical polymerisation(ATRP)with methyl methacrylate and styrene as monomers.Surface-modified amorphous metal oxide nanoparticles of titanium,zirconium,tantalum,yttrium and vanadium were synthesised using these precursors in a microemulsion-based sol-gel process.
