The Indian soap industry believes that it will be severely affected if the proposal of the Food Ministry to hike the customs duty on non-edible palm oil to 65% is implemented.The proposal is to prevent misuse by mixing non-edible crude palm oil and crude palm stearine with vanaspati,thereby causing health hazards.
