FATTY ACID SALT DERIVED FROM PALM OIL, SOAP BASE MATERIAL AND SOAP COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME, AND PREPARATION OF SAID SALT

PURPOSE:To obtain a palm oil fatty acid salt which maintains the fragrance imparted to the soap base material obtained from palm oil and is reduced in the odor of palm oil by reducing the content of a fatty acid salt, which is contained in the palm oil fatty acid salt and has a carbon number of 18 and two or more double bonds, to a specific amount. CONSTITUTION:The fatty acid salt derived from palm oil contains at least partially a palm-oil-derived fatty acid salt with a carbon number of 18, which contains a fatty acid salt component having a carbon number of 18 and two or more double bonds in an amount not more than 2wt.%. Further, a palm-oil- derived fatty acid salt, which contains a fatty acid salt having a carbon number of 18 and two or more double bonds in an amount of 2wt.% or less and a fatty acid salt having a carbon number of 18 and a double bond in 10-90wt.%, provides a solid soap composition which hardly produces cracks and is scarcely disintegrable by dissolving as well as is improved in fragrance imparting capacity and is reduced in oil odor.
