slovak Republic bans PVC manufacture, import and export from 2008

The Slovak Republic is the first country to ban teh manufacture, import and export of PVC as part of the new waste regulations (No 223/2001) which will come into force on 1 Jan 2008. These regulations will lead to numerous company closures and the loss of tens of thousands of jobs.
