Mosaic sold out of gMOP until October

MARKET SUMMARY:The MOP market is still very tight with most suppliers struggling to restore their shipping schedules that have been running late after the logistical delays experienced in the first half.Now there has been a record month of sales by North American producers during May which has brought down MOP stocks by 25% since end-April and to almost half those a year earlier.It is not surprising,therefore,that Mosaic announced on 15 June a 20 p.s.t.increase in prices across the board in the massive US domestic market with immediate effect.Not only that but it informed buyers that 'blend grade' MOP (i.e.granular) was not available until after 1 October,thanks to the low stocks.It is understood that red standard MOP is pretty tight also.There are some small volumes of other grades,mainly white standard,available but it is not clear how soon that can be shipped.
