The UK finishing industry's Weapons of Mass Destruction?

Having recently been invited by an e.mail dated the 24th July to submit comments on the final draft of the PG6/23 Guidance Notes, both parts 'a' and 'b', by 17th September I began to reflect on the plethora of legislation that is imposed upon our industry and how 'Mr Average Finisher' copes with this burden. Our industry, or my industry, I consider to be anything to do with the industrial application of liquid coatings, paints and lacquers, and powder coatings. I don't consider vehicle refinishing, or the serious anticorrosion industry like pipelines, bridges, and petrochemical installations, to be my forte. My industry is the one that applies a coating system to look good, provide some protection and perhaps from time a little additional functionality, but in essence that 'finishing touch' that will encourage the end user to buy the product.
