AbuQir sales tender attracts limited interest

Interest in the AbuQir sales tender was essentially restricted to two bidders today. Given continued lack of ullage at European transit points, interest for Europe was restricted to a 10,000t parcel, booked with Helm at $331/t fob for February loading. Bids for the spot prompt 25,000t parcel failed to reach the $328-330/t fob expectation by the supplier, and the cargo was booked with Ameropa in the very low $320s/t fob. The cargo will likely head for the US, but the recent weakness in East Coast prices is indicative of a possible West Coast discharge.
