Yara to expand Siilinj?rvi phosphate

YARA HAS announced that it is investing in new capacity at its phosphate mine in Siilinj?rvi in Finland. The company is spending ?60m ($76.3m) to raise capacity from 850,000t/y to 1m tonnes/y. "The project strengthens the scale and competitiveness of our rock mining operations in Finland and increases sourcing flexibility for our NPK production, especially for the Norwegian plants,” said Yara's head of Strategy, Supply and Trade, Hallgeir Storvik.
