European players settle Q1 contracts for liquid sulphur

The first European liquid sulphur contracts for 2009 have been agreed between $40-80/t cfr Benelux, all so far on a first- quarter basis only, rather than the usual six-monthly terms. This is to avoid a repeat of the second half of last year, when sulphur prices plunged, prompting widespread renegotiation of 2H 2008 contract prices.
