Forward views on urea values differ substantially

While most indicators pointed to sustained urea values in the early part of this week, the mood is gradually becoming more sombre. Trading activity was again dominated by purchases from traders to cover earlier sales, and the market is in need of substantial additional purchasing for current FOB values to improve further. Major nitrogen producers nevertheless continue to contend that prices will have to move up, citing limited production, low global grain stocks and an urgent need to replenish fertilizer inventories.
