Nitron had been linked by some with a purchase of a 25,000 mt cargo for September from Uralchem marginally above $490/mt FOB this week but the trader denied having booked the tonnage. Citco claims a netback at $500/mt FOB in a 10-15,000 mt deal with Balderton/Yara for product with specifications earmarked for industrial use in Europe. Recent sales in Brazil of standard prills close to $525/mt CFR suggest significantly lower netbacks for traders to generate margins. Freight and transaction costs for Brazil are assessed around $35/mt. Offers for granular urea from EuroChem are posted in the $530s/mt FOB.
