Negotiations begin on 2H 2008 contract prices

Sulphur buyers and sellers in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East are starting price negotiations for 2H 2008 contracts. One producer said it expects to see a trebling of liquid sulphur prices in Europe, agreed at $260-305/t cpt NW Europe and $220-280/t cfr Benelux for 1H 2008. In the Middle East, sellers are aiming to achieve returns above $800/t fob on North African contracts for 2H 2008 contracts.
