China: DAP export business falters as India retreats

Having lined up more than 400,000 mt DAP for end-August shipment to India in the last two weeks, export business has slowed to a halt. Suppliers are assessing the potential impact of the VAT and making sense of the supplementary notice issued at short notice by the government at the end of last week (see seperate entry).The holiday period has also impacted activity.
