Subsurface Irrigation Aiming at Expanding the Scale of nice Production: City of Aomori

The provision of irrigation and drainage facilities and the mechanization of farm work are now common in the cultivation of rice. This has been realized both by the development of growing methods and farm machines and by increased investment in agriculture, such as one in farmland readjustment and in the construction of irrigation and drainage facilities. In a situation where projects for improving agriculture and rural areas, such as land readjustment and irrigation and drainage works, are being carried out, I am now helping my old parents in doing rice farming by a traditional method. Based on this experience, I would like to examine the future of rice cultivation and report some examples of research and practice on rice production.
