PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the production process and use for Aomori white cedar, the extraction of hinokitiol from Aomori white cedar wood, products using the extracted hinokitiol, the large production of saplings from the seeds of Aomori white cedar. SOLUTION: Logs or lumbers of Aomori white cedar are obtained from the trees of Aomori cedar of several tens to more than 200 years of age and hinokitiol is extracted from the wood wastes, for example, shavings, chips and the like as a utilization of the Aomori cedar trees. The Aomori cedar trees are processed to lumbers and used in the basic parts of a house to protect the house from termites. Further, the cedar tree is resistant to fungi and bacteria and is used in the agricultural fields requiring antimold, antifungal and antibacterial properties. The Aomori cedar trees can inhibit molds, fungi, bacterial from infesting even under high hurnidity conditions by the action of the hinokitiol and can be used as agricultural materials that can meet such requirements.
