Fleabane is fast becoming a major weed of economic impact in southern Australia. Pamela Lawson talks to presenters at a recent national workshop about the latest management techniques. For the past 10 years, flax leaf fleabane (Conyza bonariensis)has been identified as a major crop weed in northern NSW and southern Queensland. But over the past five years, the weed has gradually crept into the major farming areas of southern Australia where it severely infests croplands, pastures, roadsides andother non-agricultural areas.
