There can be little doubt that millions of organizations around the world are aware of "ISO 9000" with varying levels of understanding. It could be suggested that ISO 9001:2000 is the most well known and top selling ISO standard. In this article, we briefly review its 20-year journey, reflecting upon its history and development, its widening adoption and how well it has met its objectives.
