The Kids' ISO 14000 Programme introduced in New York City schools

The Kids' ISO 14000 Programme is on the way to becoming an internationalsuccess following its launching in 2000 in Japan. In September 2007, the project moved to the United States with a test in a number of New York City public schools. The Kids' ISO 14000 Programme is growing into an international success since its modest beginnings in 2000 with 500 students in Japan. Some 150 000 children and young people aged 10 to 18 have completed the programme, with more than 80percent demonstrating measurable increases in environmental awareness.
